At a reception Friday, the East Baton Rouge Council on Aging will reveal a complete rebranding of its logo, website and vision for serving the parish’s seniors. The agency’s recent rebranding initiative includes creating a more colorful logo, a condensed mission statement (“Supporting Independence—Serving Seniors”) as well as a new, more user-friendly website. Instead of merely gearing the site’s message and resources to the parish’s seniors, the new site is aimed at caregivers, volunteers and would-be community investors as well. “We wanted something more lively and expressive: a break from the often-esoteric world of abbreviations and codified lingo,” says EBRCOA Executive Director Tasha Clark-Amar, who took over at the helm of the agency in July 2011. “After meeting with the agency’s key staff members, we felt we needed to provide a logo that would appeal to all age demographics. We wanted something that was colorful, vibrant, and would sustain the center for years to come,” says Kim Denson, owner of Zachary-based Denson Advertising and Promotions, which redesigned the agency’s 30-plus year old logo. The reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the agency’s senior center, 5790 Florida Blvd. For more information or to RSVP, call Jeremy Theriot at 923-8000, ext. 239.
