Gonzales-based EATEL announced today it is acquiring Vision Communications, a 66-year-old telecommunications company headquartered in Lafourche Parish, from Boston-based private equity firm BV Investment Partners. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. BV Investment Partners had had Vision since 2007. Headquartered in Larose, Vision provides cable TV, Internet, phone, home security and alarm monitoring services to both residential and business customers from Raceland to Grand Isle. The acquisition will give EATEL an expanded service area throughout southeastern Louisiana, stretching from lower Livingston Parish to southern Jefferson Parish. The acquisition is subject to approval by the Federal Communications Commission and the Louisiana Public Service Commission, and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2011.
