Easter weekend activities feature egg hunt, blues King

Turn your children loose at BREC Park on Perkins Road starting at 10 a.m. Friday for the annual Easter Egg Hunt hosted by 100.7 the Tiger. There will be tons of prizes given away—including a Nintendo Wii for one very lucky boy or girl—and the Easter Bunny will make a personal appearance for photos and souvenirs. Later that night, Chris Thomas King will make it a good Friday at Chelsea’s Café when he brings his urban blues to the stage. King, the son of local blues legend Tabby Thomas, is a fixture of the south Louisiana music scene and an ambassador for Louisiana music around the world. For something in a different vein, buzz band Sleigh Bells will be at the Varsity Theatre Tuesday night.
