Denham Springs-based DSLD has consolidated its three Baton Rouge offices into a new 31,000-square-foot office on Pecue Lane.

Some 85 employees from two offices on Coursey Boulevard and one off Lake Sherwood Avenue began working in the office last fall.

DSLD partner Jeff Purpera says the company wanted to get the Baton Rouge workers in one spot, plus they own this property instead of renting like with the previous offices. According to a 2018 permit, the new office cost $3.5 million to build.

The company, which was named Business Report’s Business of the Year in 2019, closed on more than 770 houses last year in the Baton Rouge area, according to Purpera, and finished building more than 3,000 houses along the Gulf Coast. He expects the company to have similar figures at the end of 2020.

Some of the developments underway by DSLD in the region include Brookstone in Prairieville, Camellia Cove in Gonzales, Hidden Lake Estates in Denham Springs and South Point, also in Denham Springs.

The company’s growth the last few years has mostly come from out of state, as the Livingston Parish-founded company expands its reach into Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.

“Our numbers are flat, steady in Louisiana,” Purpera says. “In the state, the market share we have is what we’re going to get.”

He says if the state starts seeing population growth, that can change, but for now he expects the company’s growth in unit sales to continue coming from outside the state.
