The Mayor’s Homelessness Prevention Coalition’s new initiative, announced at the Downtown Development District meeting today, aims to lower populations of panhandlers and the homeless in the Baton Rouge area. One of the areas of focus for the initiative, which will start this summer pending Metro Council approval, will be Third Street in downtown Baton Rouge.
