You’ve only got a few days left to submit your application to make a Shark Tank-style business pitch to a panel of judges and live audience members during the third annual Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week Pitch Night event, at which up to $1 million in prize money and business assistance is up for grabs.
The deadline for those wishing to make a pitch during the Nov. 19 event is 3 p.m. Friday. Up to four entrepreneurs or businesses will be selected to make pitches.
The panel of judges will be made up of local and national business experts. Leaders from United Networks of America, the largest provider of value-added affinity products in the nation, will decide how much of the $1 million in prize money the winner will receive to fund their business idea.
During the second annual Pitch Night competition last year, the winner was guaranteed $400,000. However, no money was pledged to the winner during the event. UNA has pledged this year to support the winner in the form of website development, graphic design, marketing, business strategy, accounting and opportunities with its client base.
Pitch Night will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Manship Theatre at the Shaw Center for the Arts. Apply to make a pitch or get tickets to be a part of the live audience.
