Louisiana businessman James Davison says there’s a signed deal to bring about 1,400 jobs to the former Guide Corp. headlight plant in Ouachita Parish. But he says a confidentiality agreement keeps him from giving any details until an official announcement Wednesday. The (Monroe) News-Star is reporting that the deal is for a startup company that will assemble new autos in the plant. Davison said earlier that the plan would require doubling the size of the 425,000-square-foot plant. State and local governments put together an incentive package to lure the project to Ouachita Parish, which includes up to $15 million in combined local funding and multiples of that from the state. Davison, who owns a trucking company, bought the Guide plant in October, two years after the old GM headlight plant shut down.
