Starwood Capital Group of Greenwich, Connecticut, has purchased the Crestwood Suites of Baton Rouge hotel at 5222 S. Sherwood Forest Boulevard for $4,635,000.
According to sale documents, the global real estate firm bought the 137-room hotel under a limited partnership called SGC LH Baton Rouge. The seller was LH 2007 Properties LLC, a Delaware-based company with a Houston mailing address whose representative is Mohammed Thowfeek.
Attempts to reach representatives with Starwood Capital Group this morning for details on the company’s plans for the hotel were unsuccessful. According to its website, the private investment firm primarily focuses on real estate and has raised over $31 billion of equity since its inception in 1991. It currently has more than $42 billion of assets under its management, and has acquired approximately $65 billion of assets over the past 24 years.
The Crestwood Suites is located just off South Sherwood Forest Boulevard, between Coursey Boulevard and Airline Highway, behind the Golden Corral restaurant.
