Apparently, the best tasting flavored rum in the country is made right here on the corridor. Old New Orleans Cajun Spice Rum — made by Celebration Distillation of New Orleans — has taken the highest honors from the Beverage Testing Institute for the Flavored Rum of 2009. Here’s what reviewers had to say: “Golden amber color. Nutmeg laced eggnog, mineral and white pepper dust aromas follow through on a round entry to a dryish medium-to-full body with leather, brown spices, and pink peppercorn notes. Finishes with a long mocha ice cream, nutshell, mineral, and spice fade. Very nice.” It marks the third year Cajun Spice has won the distinction. Its three-year rum placed second and its crystal rum, third, in their respective categories. To see the reviews, click here.
