A groundbreaking ceremony was held this afternoon for the new, $35.4 million Main Library of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library system. The new library will be located behind the site of the current Main Library on Goodwood Boulevard and will total 126,000 square feet. Its expected completion date is in fall 2013. Library Design Collaborative designed the library, and the general contractor is Milton J. Womack Inc. See renderings of the building here.
