Condo development planned for East Boyd

Construction is set to start next week on 333 Lofts at East Boyd, a condominium development aimed at the LSU student market. 333 Lofts will be a gated community with 28 units, says Brian Dantin of Dantin Bruce Development. Units in 333 Lofts will start at $200,000 for a two-bedroom, two-bath unit and $275,000 for a three-bedroom unit with three baths. The development is located between Highland Road and Burbank Drive. The condos will feature amenities such as 20-foot ceilings and granite countertops, and the development will have a pool and outdoor fireplace. Dantin says he wants to offer amenities to attract buyers. He’s targeting families who want to invest in a condo while their children attend LSU and like the idea of a small complex. “We’re also looking at them for the rental market, because that’s so strong,” he says. “You can get a pretty high-dollar rent.” So far, Dantin has presold three units in the development. 333 Lofts is set to open for the fall 2012 semester. —Timothy Boone
