TV crews from the Food Network spent several hours Sunday night at City Pork Brasserie & Bar, which will be featured on an upcoming episode of the network’s hit show Burgers, Brew and ’Que hosted by Michael Symon.

City Pork co-owner Stephen Hightower cannot discuss details of the upcoming episode, citing a confidentiality agreement. But he confirms Sunday night’s taping at the Jefferson Highway restaurant.

“This is a great step for the Baton Rouge culinary scene,” Hightower says. “We are honored to be a part of it.”

Several people who attended the taping posted about it on social media. The Food Network’s own website also makes reference to an upcoming episode that will air Jan. 15 and, again, Jan. 16, though the website does not identify City Pork by name.

“Duff Goldman makes a guest appearance at Michael Symon’s favorite Baton Rouge, La. smokehouse that boasts a pork belly hoagie so outrageous it has to be shared,” the website reads.

City Pork’s Pork Belly Hoagie is one of the restaurant’s signature sandwiches.

Symon and his crew reportedly visited several other restaurants both in Baton Rouge and New Orleans that will be featured on upcoming episodes of Burgers, Brew and ’Que.

City Pork Brasserie & Bar opened in late 2014, one year after City Pork Deli and Charcuterie opened under the Perkins Road Overpass. Earlier this month, City Pork Kitchen & Pie opened on Exchequer Drive in the location formerly home to The Exchequer restaurant.
