A central Louisiana software company has been enlisted to help the Cajun Navy track Texans needing to be rescued from the floodwaters of Hurricane Harvey, The Town Talk reports.

The volunteer rescue operation on Monday reached out to Alexandria-based Enhancesoft, inquiring about whether the company could tweak its open source ticketing system to help Cajun Navy volunteers connect and track people in need.

The Enhancesoft team got to work almost immediately, The Town Talk reports, adding new features to its product and creating just what the Cajun Navy needed: a more efficient way to track rescue missions.

“Our software can collect the data of the person that is putting in the request for help, and they can use it to communicate who’s in need and where they are,” says Karen Vincent, Enhancesoft’s vice president of operations and support.
