Developer Richard Carmouche has filed for permits to begin construction on a third building at The Village, the commercial portion of his mixed-use development The Settlement at Willow Grove.
The new building will be 18,000 square feet and have three floors with three condo units each on the second and third floors. The first floor will be leased to retail tenants. Carmouche has received signed letters of intent from two potential tenants but is not yet ready to disclose their identities.
Meanwhile, construction continues on the second building at The Village, which is scheduled to be completed in May and will be home to several new retailers. They include Two Blondes, a gift shop; Giggles, a toy and candy story; a second location of Fresh Kitchen, which sells healthy, prepared meals; and a second location of a locally owned boutique. Carmouche declines to identify the boutique.
Daily Report previously reported Femme Fatale planned to open a second location in The Village, but those plans since have changed, Carmouche says. The third building at The Village will cost an estimated $1.65 million and will bring to 10 the number of condos at the development. Condos are a new concept for Willow Grove, and Carmouche says he hasn’t sold any yet but is confident they will catch on. Ultimately, plans call for the development of 60 condo units at The Village. —Stephanie Riegel
