A locally owned cardiovascular practice has purchased an office building on North Harrell’s Ferry Road to expand its operations.
Parris Cardiovascular Center purchased the vacant two-story, 22,000-square-foot office building from 10985 North Harrell’s Ferry LLC for $1.25 million, according to a deal filed last week with the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court’s office.
Stefani Mars with SMRG Real Estate brokered the deal for the buyer. Roger Bajon with Property One represented the seller.
The purchased property is between Interstate 12 and Old Hammond Highway and will be the company’s second location. The center will continue operating out of its location on Wabash Boulevard.
Parris Cardiovascular Center was founded two decades ago by Dr. Cordel Parris. Parris says the location of the new property was significant because of access for her patients.
“One of my biggest issues with the present location is I’ve been asking for a sidewalk for 14 years,” she says. “I’ve been here a long time. They will not fix it. I have no sidewalks for these guys. It’s running down the quality of patients coming to the space.”
The new property will also be the second location for another business Parris owns, Twilight Center Clinic and Spa. The spa’s other location is on Florida Boulevard. She also plans to lease the rest of the building to medical-use tenants and law offices.
The cardiovascular center hopes to be in the new location in the spring. With the expansion of both businesses, Parris says she is looking to around four employees.
“We’re just expanding and looking for new tenants to occupy the space,” Parris says. “I’m trying to bring more income and jobs to the area.”
