Capital Valve and Fitting has filed for a permit to build a new 13,500-square-foot warehouse with a loading dock and training facility. The new $2.8 million facility will be located behind the company’s existing headquarters at 9243 Interline Ave.
For Capital Valve and Fitting, a 56-year-old company that provides fluid system components for industrial use, the expansion is significant because it will enable the company to provide more safety training both for its own employees and for others in the industry. Capital Valve and Fitting has offered safety training for several years but company officials say there is a need in the market for much more.
“Safety training is needed for contractors who install high-pressure products in the chemical, refining and oil industries, because if the products aren’t installed correctly they’re dangerous,” Vice President Walter Brock says. “It’s especially important now with the industrial construction boom. So many more construction companies are trying to do the work and they are bringing in workers from out of state, who aren’t familiar with these type of installations and they need to be trained.”
Construction on the new facility is expected to be completed by the end of October.
