Capital One Bank has appointed Ric Kearny as Baton Rouge area president, the company announced today. Kearny will be responsible “for leading the bank’s community focus and philanthropic commitment” in Greater Baton Rouge, Capital One says. He will also continue to serve as southwest Louisiana commercial banking manager, focusing on large corporate and middle-market companies headquartered in the Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Lake Charles areas. Last month, Capital One announced the positions of Steve Lousteau and Scott Ridley, group executives for retail and business banking in Greater Baton Rouge, respectively, will be eliminated as of May 1. The position cuts are part of a larger restructuring effort by the bank that will lead to the elimination of about 30 executive positions across the country. A Baton Rouge native, Kearny has 22 years of banking experience, including 20 years with Capital One and its predecessor banks in Baton Rouge.
