In partnership with the Mid City Redevelopment Alliance of Baton Rouge, Capital One Bank today announced a “Grow Mid City” competition for small businesses in the area—with the winner to receive $10,000 to invest in their business. Second and third place winners will receive $7,000 and $3,000 for their businesses, respectively. The top three finishers will also receive technical and professional assistance to help with marketing, legal, human resources, technology and finance issues. To qualify, applicants must have had owned a business in Mid City since before Jan. 15, 2012; have had revenues of $1 million or less in the most recent fiscal year; and must demonstrate the potential or desire to grow and create jobs in Mid City.
