Update:  Democrat Sharon Weston Broome edged pass Republican state Sen. Mack “Bodi” White in Saturday’s mayoral runoff election to become the first black woman elected Baton Rouge mayor. In an election with roughly 39.2% turnout, Broome captured 52% of votes while White received 48%. Broome will replace term-limited Mayor Kip Holden Also, The Associated Press
