New Jersey-based infant and toddler retailer, Buy Buy Baby, will open its first Louisiana store this fall in the Bluebonnet Parc Shopping Center near the Mall of Louisiana.
Buy Buy Baby is a subsidiary of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., which family of brands includes Cost Plus World Market. The national baby merchandise chain, which Bed Bath & Beyond acquired in 2007 for approximately $67 million and repayment of roughly $19 million in debt, is a chief competitor of Babies “R” Us.
Buy Buy Baby sells a broad assortment of furniture, car seats, travel gear, bedding, decor, and other merchandise for infants and toddlers. It also has a baby registry. Leah Drill, a Bed Bath & Beyond senior public relations associate, says the new Baton Rouge store at 5919 Bluebonnet Blvd. will be approximately 18,000 square feet.
“As we continue to grow and open stores, we are always looking for new locations,” Drill says. “Baton Rouge is such a location and we are very excited to be coming there.”
Buy Buy Baby has more than 100 locations in the U.S. and Canada.
