When I was 15, I worked at Clegg’s Nursery on Siegen Lane restocking plants and helping customers.  That experience made me appreciate what it is like to work hard and earn my own money.  I used my knowledge from that job to take on some landscaping jobs on the side, which sparked my interest in business.

Forty under 40 2018WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST FULFILLING MOMENT IN YOUR CAREER SO FAR?

I would have to say that being named Chief Operating Officer at Baton Rouge General has been the most fulfilling moment to date.  This has been one of my professional goals for a while and I am so fortunate to be given the opportunity to lead at such a wonderful organization.

WHAT WAS YOUR PROFESSIONAL “AHA” MOMENT?

It wasn’t necessarily a moment, but over the years I have learned that no matter how smart you are, how great your ideas are or how hard you work, you have to foster relationships with people that are rooted in trust in order to get them to engage and follow.

WHAT GIVES YOU PROFESSIONAL INSPIRATION?

You don’t want to know! Probably 100 text messages and 200 emails. I started using the screen time feature on my iPhone that tells me how much time I spend on email, calendar, text, etc.  It creates awareness for me to not be so attached to my phone.
