Tuesday — East Baton Rouge Redevelopment Authority CEO Walter Monsour is keynote speaker of the Baton Rouge Growth Coalition’s fall luncheon on Tuesday, Nov. 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Juban’s Restaurant, 3739 Perkins Road. Cost is $25 for members and guests. Registration is available here.
Dec. 5 — The Get Motivated Business Seminar will feature Les Miles, Gen. Colin Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Steve Forbes and Terry Bradshaw, among others, at the Baton Rouge River Center from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. More information and registration are available here.
Dec. 6 — Baton Rouge Area Chamber’s Tech Tuesday networking event will take place at The Radio Bar, 3079 Government St., Ste. B, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. There is no cost, and complimentary appetizers will be provided by Chelsea’s Café. Registration is available here.
Dec. 6 — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana will hold a summit with leading health care experts to discuss the Patient-Centered Medical Home delivery model at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center. A general session and working lunch will be held from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A session for busy healthcare providers will begin with a cocktail hour from 5-6 p.m., and a session with a working dinner will be held from 6-9 p.m. The event is free. Dec. 12 — The Pelican Institute for Public Policy will host its inaugural Policy Orientation for the Louisiana Legislature at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center in downtown Baton Rouge. While the event targets Louisiana’s state legislators, one does not have to be a legislator to register for and participate in the Policy Orientation. Keynote speakers will include Sen. David Vitter and Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform. Gov. Bobby Jindal has been invited to give closing remarks. Early registration by Nov. 30 is $45, and early VIP registration $145. Ticket prices will increase $10 after Nov. 30, and another $20 after Dec. 9. Registration is available here.
Dec. 15 — The New Orleans American Marketing Association’s annual Louisiana Brand Panel Discussion will be led by writer, editor and food blogger Lorin Gaudin. Other panelists include Larry Avery, Big Easy Foods CEO and managing partner; Stanton Brown, vice president of marketing at Community Coffee; TurboSquid CEO and co-founder Matt Wisdom; and Lena DerOhannessian, director of Global Marketing at Southern Comfort. The event will take place at the Audubon Tea Room, 6500 Magazine St. in New Orleans, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Registration deadline is Dec. 13.
