Thursday — Keller Williams Red Stick Partners hosts the “Models for Growing Your Business in 2012” seminar at its offices at 8686 Bluebonnet Blvd. from 1-3 p.m. Admission is free. Registration and more information are available here.

Jan. 10-31 — The Louisiana Institute of Public Policy and Politics is hosting a new seminar series on Advocacy and Issue Management, with free sessions occurring each Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. in the executive board room of Business First Bank on Jefferson Highway. Sessions topics are: Jan. 10, Introduction to Legislative and Administrative Advocacy; Jan. 17, Governmental and Non-Profit Organizational Advocates; Jan. 24, Business and Trade Association Representatives; and Jan. 31, Independent Lobbyists. Speakers will include elected representatives, law enforcement officials, business leaders and association representatives. Cost is $250 for the entire series. Jan. 11 — Will French, co-founder and president of Film Production Capital—which provides tax incentive-based financing and financial services to the domestic film industry—will be the guest speaker of AGC Louisiana monthly meeting at the Hotel Intercontinental in New Orleans. A networking session will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch and the program at noon. There’s no cost for ACG members, but it’s $50 for non-members. RSVP required by Jan. 9. Jan. 12 — The Louisiana Workforce Commission is hosting a seminar for employers on electronic filing of quarterly wage and tax reports from 10 a.m. to noon at the LWC administrative building, 1001 N. 23rd St. The seminar, which is free of charge, will address the requirements and advantages of electronic filing. Jan. 18-19 — Louisiana Realtors hosts its Leading Edge Conference at the Hilton Capitol Center in Baton Rouge. The conference is designed especially for volunteer leaders, team and committee members at the local and state levels of the organization, and will deliver leadership development programs, orientation for new leaders, information on critical real estate issues and more. Jan. 24 —The LSU Louisiana Business & Technology Center and St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation presents “Louisiana Going Global,” a workshop about business expansion in international markets and trade. The workshop will be held from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the St. Tammany Parish State Complex, 21489 Koop Drive, STE 1-D, in Mandeville. Feb. 6 — Louisiana Oil & Gas Association President Don Briggs will provide a “LOGA: State of the Industry” report from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Juban’s, 3739 Perkins Road. Briggs will touch on legal issues, the state of shale gas exploration and development, EPA regulation and the state of offshore drilling, among other topics.
