#GivingTuesday is a national annual event but this year it has special significance for the Capital Region. This year marks the premier of the 225 GIVES campaign. This regionwide effort involves more than 200 nonprofits with a goal of raising $4.225 million in one day—tomorrow, Dec. 1. You, your company and your friends are the key to success.
225 GIVES is being presented by the Baton Rouge Area Foundation and Capital Area United Way. This has been a rough year and many organizations have had to cancel important fundraising events. But the needs remain, and demand has increased. Raising funds for nonprofits is more vital than ever. So many have reached into their own reserves to care for people during the pandemic, support natural disaster recovery across the region, and confront social injustice issues facing our communities. 225 GIVES will help our nonprofits recover so they can pursue their respective missions. It will take each of us doing what we can together.
