Thursday — The YWCA will hold its 18th annual Racial Justice Award Breakfast from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at Juban’s. Jim Engster, president of the Louisiana Radio Network, will receive the 18th annual Racial Justice Award. Katherine Cecil, producer of the documentary Race, about the 2006 New Orleans mayoral race between Ray Nagin and Mitch Landrieu, will be the guest speaker. Thursday — The Clean Fuels & Green Jobs Forum and Louisiana Clean Energy Expo will be held from 3-8 p.m. in LSU’s Energy, Coast & Environment Building. The event is sponsored by the LSU Center for Energy Studies and the Greater Baton Rouge Clean Cities Coalition. Admission to the forum is free, but registration is required here. Admission to the expo costs $25.
Thursday — State Rep. Franklin Foil will hold a district town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Bluebonnet Library. Foil, who represents District 70, will discuss the upcoming legislative session and recap the 2010 fiscal session.
Friday — Barbara Freiberg, president of the East Baton Rouge School Board, will be the guest speaker at Forum 35’s monthly luncheon. The event will be held at noon at Juban’s. Lunch is $20 for members, $25 for non-members. To register, click here.
April 21 — The annual Trends in Greater Baton Rouge Real Estate Seminar will be held from 8 a.m. to noon at BREC’s Independence Park Theater. The event provides Realtors with the latest data from local experts about what is going on in the main segments of the real estate market: residential, retail, multi-family, office, industrial and finance. The event is presented by the Commercial & Investment Division of the Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors and LSU’s Real Estate Research Institute.
