Wednesday — The Louisiana Association of Business and Industry will hold its annual meeting at Crowne Plaza. The event will feature a morning session at 10:30 a.m. on the state budget, with participants including Paul Rainwater, commissioner of administration, and Rep. Jim Fannin, chair of the House Appropriations Committee. The luncheon meeting will be held at noon. Scott Rasmussen, of Rasmussen Reports, a national political polling firm, will be the keynote speaker. Gov. Bobby Jindal will also speak at the luncheon.
Thursday — A “Race and Gravy” community forum will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. The event is sponsored by Leadership Greater Baton Rouge Alumni and the Baton Rouge Area Foundation. Thursday — The first “Red Stick Green Drinks,” a happy hour for ecologically minded residents, will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the second floor gallery in the Manship Theatre. Steven Babcock, an environmental science teacher at University High, will be the featured speaker.
