The event will be held at noon at Cáfe Américain, 7521 Jefferson Highway, with a reception to precede at 11:30 a.m. Candidates scheduled to speak at the event are Kathy Edmonston of Gonzales, Etta Licciardi of Loranger, Laura Lejeune Taylor and Jason Engen, both of Baton Rouge. They are vying to replace BESE President Chas Roemer, who is not running for re-election. Jason France, a Libertarian, is also in the race. Roemer has endorsed Engen.
