Tuesday: Rep. Valarie Hodges, R-Denham Springs, will discuss Gov. John Bel Edwards’ new administration and the upcoming legislative session as guest speaker of the Chamber of Commerce of East Baton Rouge’s monthly luncheon. The event will be held at Café Américain, 7521 Jefferson Hwy., beginning at noon. Lunch is $17, payable to the restaurant. An RSVP is not necessary to attend.

Thursday: Leaders With Vision hosts a public forum on “bridging the political divide” with Reps. Cameron Henry, R-Metairie, and Walt Leger, D-New Orleans, at Drusilla Seafood, 3482 Drusilla Lane. Doors open at 11:15 a.m., with lunch to follow at 11:45 and the presentation at noon. Cost is $20 for LWV members; $25 for guests. RSVP to attend.

Thursday: Mayor Kip Holden and the city-parish Transportation and Drainage Department hosts an informational meeting at the River Center, 275 South River Road, on the proposed streetcar from downtown to LSU. Route options, stop locations, maintenance facility sites, transit operations and other project elements will be on display for discussion. The public is encouraged to view the displays and speak with city-parish staffers anytime from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Holden and other officials will give a brief presentation at 6 p.m.

Thursday: The East Baton Rouge Parish Department of Public Works and the Green Light Plan team will host an open house meeting to discuss the results of the interchange improvements made at Pecue Lane and Interstate 10. The meeting will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Woman’s Hospital conference center, 100 Woman’s Way.
