Tuesday: Newly elected State Rep. Rick Edmonds, R-Baton Rouge, and newly elected Board of Elementary and Secondary Education member Kathy Edmonston, a Republican, will speak at the Chamber of Commerce of East Baton Rouge. The meeting will be held at noon at Café Américain, 7521 Jefferson Highway. A reception will be held starting at 11:30 a.m. Lunch is $17 and is paid directly to the restaurant. Nov. 30-Dec. 1: The LSU Manship School’s Reilly Center for Media and Public Affairs hosts a two-day event recapping the 2015 Louisiana governor’s election in the Holiday Forum in the Journalism Building on campus. “Louisiana Speaks: Conversations about Election 2015” will include a panel of journalists from The New York Times, The Advocate, NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune, Gambit Weekly and The News-Star, as well bloggers and policy analysts. Dec. 2: The Baton Rouge Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors is holding its monthly meeting at Ruffino’s, 18811 Highland Road, from noon to 1 p.m. Cost is $29 for members, $34 for guests and $15 for students. Get complete details and register to attend.
