Wednesday: The Baton Rouge Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors will have its monthly meeting from noon to 1 p.m. at Mike Anderson’s Seafood, 1031 W. Lee Drive. Chris Peters, founder of GPS Consultants, will be presenting “Lessons Learned in Fraud Auditing.” The deadline to register is 5 p.m.

Thursday: State Sen. Regina Barrow is hosting a community meeting to discuss legislative issues. Representatives from state agencies have been invited to attend. The meeting is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Baker Branch Library, 3501 Groom Road, Baker.

Thursday: Cindy Rougeou, Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System executive director, will speak to the Baton Rouge chapter of Retired State Employees Association at 9:30 a.m. at the Marriott Hotel, 5500 Hilton Ave. Rougeou will address current issues affecting state employees and retirees’ pension benefits.

Friday: The 2016 Prospect Baton Rouge will take place beginning at 7:30 a.m. March 4 at the East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library at Goodwood, 7711 Goodwood Blvd. This year’s event will offer a “reverse canvas” experience to provide a perspective into the challenges and opportunities for growth in the Baton Rouge area. Saturday: Dr. Dimitri Christakis, of the Seattle Children’s Research Institute, will deliver the keynote address at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital Education Symposium. The symposium is from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center, 201 Lafayette St. Registration is $75 for physicians and midlevel clinicians, $30 for nurses and free for medical students.
