Tuesday: The Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce hosts an education luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Forrest Grove Plantation in Denham Springs, 8743 Stephenson Drive. Guest speakers will be Livingston Parish Superintendent John Watson, Dr. John Crain, president of Southeastern Louisiana University, and Dr. William Wainwright, chancellor of Northshore Technical Community College. Wednesday: The Louisiana Technology Park hosts a free lunch and learn event on the city-parish’s new Open Data BR initiative, beginning at noon. Participants will learn more about what went into the development of this platform, including the initial data sets available on the site and the many ways in which they can interact with this data, as well as what is planned for the future. Thursday: The Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana will hold its 2015 Annual Conference and Luncheon at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 4728 Constitution Ave., from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Walt Handelsman, editorial cartoonist for The Advocate, will be the keynote speaker, and a panel discussion with the four major gubernatorial candidates also will take place. Saturday-Sunday: The Capital Region Builders Association hosts its annual Parade of Homes. Tours will last from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. There is no charge.
