Tuesday — LABI hosts a forum to discuss upcoming legislative issues affecting business and industry at its conference center, 3113 Valley Creek Drive, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Cost is $15. More details and registration is available here.
Tuesday — The Health Care Reform Forum, presented by Business Report, will be held at the Crowne Plaza, 4728 Constitution Ave., from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. The forum will provide an in-depth look at how businesses will be affected by health care reform. The event is sold out.
March 19 — The 2013 Business Awards & Hall of Fame Banquet, presented by Business Report and Junior Achievement, will take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Crowne Plaza, 4728 Constitution Ave. Tickets are $80 each and $750 for a table of 10. This year’s winners are:
• Hall of Fame Laureate: Jim Bernhard, founder, chairman and CEO of The Shaw Group
• Businessperson of the Year: Teri Fontenot, president and CEO of Woman’s Hospital
• Young Businesspersons of the Year: Brandon Landry and Jack Warner, owners of Last in Concepts Inc., which includes Walk-On’s, Roux House, Schlittz & Giggles, and Happy’s
• Company of the Year (100 or more employees): Sparkhound
• Company of the Year (under 100 employees): GoTech Inc.
