Thursday: State Treasurer John Kennedy, a candidate for U.S. Senate, will outline his policies at the Ronald Reagan Newsmaker Luncheon. The meeting will take place at Café Americain, 7521 Jefferson Hwy., with reception at 11:30 a.m. and lunch to follow at noon. Reservations are not required. Lunch is $17. The luncheon is sponsored by the Louisiana Republican Assembly and affiliated with the Republican Party of East Baton Rouge Parish. Thursday: Chuck Brown, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality director, will be the guest speaker at the upcoming Louisiana Water Environment Association luncheon. The meeting will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the offices of Kean Miller, 300 Convention St., Suite 700. Registration is required by Tuesday, Feb. 9. Friday: The Louisiana Small Business Center will host a workshop on starting and financing a small business from 10 a.m. until noon at the Louisiana Technology Park, 7117 Florida Blvd. The workshop is ideal for anyone interested in starting a business.
