Tuesday: Harvard Business School professor Lynda Applegate will discuss “Perspectives on Entrepreneurship” at the LSU E.J. Ourso College of Business from 10 a.m. to noon. The event is free and open to the public. Get complete details and RSVP to attend.

Thursday: Bob Mann, the Manship Chair in Journalism at LSU’s Manship School of Mass Communication, is the featured speaker at the Sales & Marketing Executives of Baton Rouge membership luncheon. The meeting begins with networking and registration from 11 to 11:30 a.m., followed by the presentation and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is no charge for SME members; $35 for guests. Thursday: Leaders With Vision hosts a public forum with all four candidates running for lieutenant governor at Drusilla Seafood, 3482 Drusilla Lane. Doors open at 11:15 a.m., with lunch and forum to begin at 11:45 a.m. A panel of local journalists will pose questions to the candidates: Republicans Elbert Guillory, Billy Nungesser and John Young, and Democrat Kip Holden. Cost is $20 for LWV members; $25 for guests. Get tickets.

Thursday: A half-day conference will focus on the future of water resources in the Capital Region. “Capital Region Water in 2050: Opportunities & Challenges,” presented by the Environment and Health Council of Louisiana and the Pennington Biomedical Research Center, will feature a number of guest speakers from the region, as well as panel discussions. The conference will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Pennington Conference Center. The conference is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Friday: The University Laboratory School at LSU will celebrate its 100th birthday at a 2 p.m. event in the school’s Pennington McKernan Gymnasium and Multi-purpose Facility on campus. First Lady Supriya Jindal and local dignitaries will be on hand, and Newtron Group founder, owner and ULS alumnus Newton Thomas will be the featured speaker.
