Tuesday: The Chamber of Commerce of East Baton Rouge is hosting freshman Congressman Garret Graves, R-Baton Rouge, at its monthly newsmaker luncheon at Café Américain, 7521 Jefferson Highway. The event will begin with a reception starting at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch and Graves’ address at noon. Reservations are not necessary. Lunch is $17, payable to the restaurant.
Wednesday: CYA 360—Cover Your Assets hosts a day-long educational event for local business owners on how to best handle various business risks at the Renaissance hotel, 7000 Bluebonnet Blvd., from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cost is $50. Get complete event details and tickets.
Thursday: The Louisiana Technology Park and Kean Miller Law Firm present a lunch-and-learn event titled “What to Expect When You’re Expecting a Patent,” at which Kean Miller attorneys Russel Primeaux and Devin Ricci will be on hand to discuss the time, effort and resources needed to acquire patent protection from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The meeting begins at 11:30 a.m. and will wrap up by 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided at this free event, but registration is required.
Thursday: Veterans will get top priority at the Spring Job Fair hosted by the Mayor’s Office of EmployBR. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Baton Rouge River Center, 275 S. River Road. Only veterans will be allowed to enter the job fair beginning at 9 a.m. The doors will open to the general public at 11 a.m., but veterans can continue to take advantage of the fair until it closes at 2 p.m. The event is free.
