Tuesday: State Reps. Mike Johnson and Jay Morris will speak to the Chamber of Commerce of East Baton Rouge about the proposed Pastor Protection Act and a companion bill to the proposed sanctuary cities legislation during a noon luncheon at Café Américain, 7521 Jefferson Highway. The lunch costs $17 payable to the restaurant.

Wednesday: The LSU Innovation Park and the Louisiana Business & Technology Center will host Baton Rouge’s first monthly 1 Million Cups program for entrepreneurs and investors from 9-10 a.m. at Goodwood Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd. Get more information.

Thursday: Psychologist Courtland M. Chaney will speak about understanding and managing organizational culture at the Ascension Business Connection monthly meeting, which will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Hospital, 1125 La. 30 West, Gonzales. The event is free but registration is required.

May 3: Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, a Wal-Mart executive vice president and treasurer, will discuss diversity and inclusion at the Baton Rouge Area Chamber’s Signature Speaker event, which will take place from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Cook Hotel and Conference Center, 3848 W Lakeshore Drive, at LSU. The event is $35 for a Signature Speaker investor and $45 for a non-investor. Register and get more information.
