Tonight: David Altig, senior vice president and director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, will be the keynote speaker for the 2015 Signature Speaker Series, hosted by the Baton Rouge Growth Coalition and sponsored by Jones Walker, CSRS and Baton Rouge Business Report. Altig, who spoke at the original Signature Speaker Series event in March 2011, is expected to reflect on his remarks from 2011, discuss his thoughts on the current fiscal climate and speak to the economic standing and future of our region. His address will be followed by a panel discussion. The event takes place at the Manship Theatre, 100 Lafayette St., beginning with registration at 5:30 p.m., program from 6 to 7 p.m. and a reception to follow until 8 p.m. Get complete event details.
Tuesday: The Baton Rouge Area Foundation will unveil a draft of its master plan for the rehabilitation of the LSU lakes at an open house meeting scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at the LSU Lod Cook Alumni Center, 3838 W. Lakeshore Drive. The event is free. RSVP to attend.
Saturday: Keep Baton Rouge Beautiful and The Baton Rouge Lodging Association are hosting a cleanup day in downtown Baton Rouge from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Volunteers can pick up supplies and pitch in by stopping by Hotel Indigo, 200 Convention St., or Hampton Inn & Suites, 462 Lafayette St.
