Tuesday — The LSU Louisiana Business & Technology Center hosts a cyber crime seminar from 8-11 a.m. at the Burden Conference Center, 4560 Essen Lane in Baton Rouge. Attendees will learn about the threats and common attack vectors for cyber security, the growing trends in criminal cyber activities, the effects of cyber crime on the bottom line of a company and the dangers of social engineering. Wednesday — Radio personality Bob Edwards will speak with Jim Engster at 7 p.m. at Noland/Laborde Hall in the Lod Cook Alumni Center at LSU to benefit local public radio station WRKF. Edwards will also be signing copies of his new book, A Voice in the Box: My Life on the Radio. Edwards was with National Public Radio for 30 years, co-hosting All Things Considered before launching Morning Edition in 1979. Edwards now has his own show, Bob Edwards Weekend, on Sirius XM Radio, which also airs Sundays on WRKF. Tickets are $15 and are available by calling 926-3050, ext. 11, or online here.
Friday — Louisiana Entrepreneurship Day will take place from 2-6 p.m. at the Kean Miller law offices, 400 Convention St. The keynote speaker will be Marty Sixkiller, the PDI/DreamWorks R&D supervisor and a Slidell native, who worked at the Louisiana Technology Park in Baton Rouge before going to DreamWorks. Workshops on copyright protection and state tax incentives are also planned. Events are free, but registration is required here.
