Tuesday — Clint Willson, LSU professor of civil and environmental engineering and director of the university’s River and Coastal Hydraulics Lab, is the guest speaker of LSU’s Science Café meeting at Chelsea’s, 2857 Perkins Road. Doors open at 5 p.m. for free food, networking and giveaways, with Willson’s address slated to begin at 6 p.m. Willson will discuss how sediment flow through the Mississippi River affects everything from industry and economics to the ways people live along the river.
Tuesday — The Chamber of Commerce of East Baton Rouge meets at Café Americain, 7021 Jefferson Hwy., with guest speakers Rep. Valarie Hodges, R-Central; Metro Councilman Buddy Amoroso; and Bob Watts, chairman of the movement to incorporate the city of Watson.
