Today-Friday: Now in its fifth year, Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week returns next week with a number of familiar events as well as some new ones. Held in conjunction with Global Entrepreneurship Week, the local BREW events include a mix of pitch competitions, national keynote addresses, educational programs, panel discussions, networking events and opportunities for angel investors to see new businesses. Tuesday-Wednesday: The Louisiana Industrial Developers Executives Association will host a comprehensive professional development course on project financing at LSU over two days. The course will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the Business Education Complex at LSU. Cost is $550 for guests and $505 for LIDEA members. Get complete details and register to attend.

Wednesday: Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard and Dawn Birdsong from Mighty Moms are guest speakers of the Livingston Board of Realtors, who will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Forrest Grove Plantation, 8743 Stephenson Drive, in Denham Springs. Wednesday: BNI Louisiana will host an informational meeting for professionals who are interested in growing their business by maximizing their marketing efforts at 11 a.m. at the Lagniappe Restaurant, 5755 Main St., in Zachary. Wednesday: Jim Goodnight, chief executive officer of SAS and a catalyst in launching the master of science in analytics program at LSU, will be part of a meet-and-greet event in room 1125 of the E. J. Ourso College of Business from 2 to 4 p.m. Goodnight has led SAS, the world’s leading business analytics software vendor, since its incorporation in 1976. Wednesday: A lunch and learn event will be hosted by the Louisiana Society of Association Executives beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza, 4728 Constitution Ave. Guest speaker will be Jeremy Klibert, partner at Faulk & Winkler, who will talk about essential tax information for associations. Cost is $45 for members; $55 for guests.

Wednesday: As part of GIS Day, staff members from the Baton Rouge Department of Information Services, Office of the Planning Commission and the Mayor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness will show off various maps and data included in the city-parish Geographic Information System, which has seen many upgrades over the past year. The free event will be held at City Hall, 222 St. Louis St., from noon to 5:30 p.m. Get complete details.
