Robert S. Greer Jr. has been named interim chairman of Business First Bank. Greer, president and CEO of LEMIC Insurance Company, replaces David Pitts, who will continue to serve as a director of the community bank and its holding company. Former Gov. Buddy Roemer, who founded the bank five years ago and is now running for the Republican presidential nomination, says Greer will be a “steady, solid presence.” Jude Melville, Business First CEO, says Greer is an ideal interim chairman because of his 40 years in the finance industry. Greer has previously worked in a president/CEO position with Providian Agency Group, United Insurance Company of America and Union National Life Insurance Company.
