The Baton Rouge Metro Airport is operating as normal today, says airport spokesman Jim Caldwell, and impacts from Tropical Storm Isaac are expected to be minimal on Tuesday. Wednesday, however, is another matter. “Right now, most of the carriers don’t anticipate operating any flights to or from BTR on Wednesday,” Caldwell says. “That could change, but right now they’re not planning on it. If they do resume Wednesday, it will likely be later in the day.” On Tuesday, Caldwell says, all outbound flights should leave Baton Rouge as scheduled. Inbound flights scheduled to arrive after around 8 p.m. on Tuesday may be diverted or canceled, Caldwell says, depending on what local conditions are like at the time. Caldwell says all flight details will be updated on the airport’s website here, and he encourages those expecting to use the airport to contact the servicing airline directly for updates. “More than likely, all flights will resume Thursday, but that will depend of course on what the storm actually brings to the area,” Caldwell says. —Steve Sanoski
