Former Insurance Commissioner Jim Brown, who in recent years has established himself as a political pundit and media personality, launches a new nightly talk show next week on WJBO-AM. “Jim Brown in the Evening” debuts Monday, Feb. 6, and will air nightly from 7-9 p.m. in the time slot currently occupied by the syndicated program “The Daily Wrap Up.” “We wanted to be as local as possible and Jim was available,” says WJBO program manager Bruce Collins. “We think this will be a good fit with our target demo,” which is mostly males, ages 25 to 54. Brown’s show will cover local, national and international issues, with a focus on how the day’s events affect people in Baton Rouge, he said. Brown will continue to host his Sunday afternoon talk show on WJBO, “Common Sense,” which is nationally syndicated and airs in 75 markets around the country. —Stephanie Riegel
