Breakout Kings filming closes several downtown streets today

Several downtown streets will be subject to partial or intermittent closures today as filing for the TV drama Breakout Kings begins today. Throughout the day, there will be a one-lane closure on Convention Street between Third and Lafayette streets, but traffic will not be impeded in the remaining open lane. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be intermittent closures on the one-block stretch of Third Street between Florida and Convention streets. From 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., the section of Florida Street between Third and Fourth streets will be subject to intermittent closures, along with a possible one-lane closure during off-peak periods. And from 6 to 8:30 p.m., there will be intermittent closures on the 1000 block of North Third Street at State Capitol Drive. The show, which is produced by Fox and airs on A&E, is scheduled to continue filming in the Baton Rouge area through early 2012. Breakout Kings is basing operations at Celtic Media Centre, where the show is using soundstages and offices. The first season of the show was filmed in Toronto, and it was announced last month filming would move to Baton Rouge for its second season.
