Myrtle E.B. Dorsey, who has served as Baton Rouge Community College’s chancellor since 2002, has accepted a similar position at St. Louis Community College in Missouri. During her tenure, BRCC’s enrollment has nearly doubled from 4,800 to 8,340, and the college has developed 23 academic programs. “Under her guidance, the college has become one of the fastest growing in our entire system,” Louisiana Community and Technical College System President Joe D. May says. “She’s done a tremendous job in making that happen, and we will certainly miss her. We wish her the best of luck in this new endeavor.” The LCTCS Board of Supervisors will discuss the search for Dorsey’s replacement at its May meeting.
