The search for the next chancellor of Baton Rouge Community College has been narrowed down to three finalists. The finalists are Andrea Lewis Miller, chancellor of Sowela Technical Community College in Lake Charles; Robert Miller, vice president for the Golden Triangle Campus and District Operations at East Mississippi Community College in Columbus, Miss.; and Luke Robins, chancellor of Louisiana Delta Community College in Monroe. On Friday, Nov. 18, the finalists will meet with the BRCC search committee to interview and participate in a series of public forums. The candidate forums will comprise three separate meetings on campus: Andrea Lewis Miller will appear at the Magnolia Building at 9 a.m.; the Louisiana Building at 10 a.m.; and the Governor’s Building at 11 a.m. Robert Miller will appear at the Louisiana Building at 9 a.m.; the Governor’s Building at 10 a.m.; and the Magnolia Building at 11 a.m. Luke Robins will appear at the Governor’s Building at 9 a.m.; the Magnolia Building at 10 a.m.; and the Louisiana Building at 11 a.m. Following the public forums, each candidate will be interviewed by Louisiana Community and Technical College System President Joe D. May, who will make the final recommendation for the position to the LCTCS Board of Supervisors. The selected candidate will succeed previous BRCC Chancellor Myrtle E.B. Dorsey, who accepted a leadership post at St. Louis Community College this past summer. Dorsey led the institution from 2002 through June 2011. Jim Horton has served as interim chancellor since Dorsey’s departure.
