The Baton Rouge Area Chamber today issued a call for résumés to professionals living outside the Capital Region who are interested in relocating to the area. BRAC is hoping to use the résumés to build “a diverse talent database that can be accessed when regional companies are searching for candidates for hard-to-fill positions.” The initiative is a key component to BRAC’s new talent development program, which was launched in part because many local companies have told BRAC through the years that finding executive talent is one of their greatest challenges. Those interested in being a part of the database can submit a résumé and get more information here. “We repeatedly hear from ex-residents who are interested in returning to the Baton Rouge area or get résumés forwarded from their friends and family who are in the region,” says BRAC President/CEO Adam Knapp. “At the same time, I also hear from economic development prospects and companies in the Baton Rouge area who struggle to find talent to match their professional positions. The talent database is an opportunity to assist both groups in meeting their needs while achieving the overall goal of increasing access to talented professionals in the region.” BRAC says it will include only out-of-region professionals in the database to ensure that it does not become a tool for “poaching” employees within the region.
