Jared Smith has been named as a director of business development for the Baton Rouge Area Chamber. Smith formerly worked with Louisiana Economic Development as a manager of business retention and expansion. At BRAC, he will work along with the other directors of business development: Ryan Cooney, who handles development projects in East Baton Rouge Parish, and Edie Michel, who works on regional development projects. “Jared will be a great addition to our business development team, especially in regards to our targeted sector strategy,” says Adam Knapp, BRAC president and CEO. Smith earned a bachelor’s from LSU and an MBA from Southeastern Louisiana University.
