As the Capital Region continues to foster entrepreneurs and startup businesses, the Baton Rouge Area Chamber on Wednesday honored select companies that have moved out of that nascent period and into a period of growth at its Companies to Watch ceremony, a part of Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week.
BRAC President and CEO Adam Knapp calls the group “innovators in their fields,” and in a prepared release says they provide “inspiration and knowledge to those in our region aspiring to do the same.”
Companies that were honored include A+ Corporation, a specialty pipeline equipment provider; General Informatics, an IT services company; Pod Pack International, a single coffee cup brewing system manufacturer; Composite Effects, a mask- and prop-making company; Marucci Sports, which specializes in making baseball bats; and Tin Roof Brewery Company, a local craft beer brewery.
To be considered for the award companies must be privately held. They must have employed a staff of between six and 99 last year, and produced revenues of between $750,000 and $50 million. They also must be headquartered in the greater Baton Rouge area.
