Less than two weeks since announcing a similar partnership with Episcopal High School, BRAC today says it is also partnering with the Baton Rouge High School Foundation to promote job opportunities in the Capital Region that could lure the school’s alumni back to the area. Under the agreement, BRAC and the foundation will jointly promote the region and employment activities within it. BRAC, meanwhile, will also identify career opportunities for Baton Rouge High graduates who are no longer in the Capital Region, and provide résumés of alumni members interesting in returning to local companies with open positions. In May, BRAC announced similar partnerships with both the LSU and Southern University alumni associations. BRAC says the goal of this partnership, as well as those previously announced, is to expand its recently created online talent database, which allows regional companies to easily sift through résumés of those looking for work in the area. The talent development initiative is a core program of BRAC’s five-year strategic plan, called The Creative Capital Agenda. It was designed, BRAC says, because area employers consistently tell them that finding highly qualified candidates for top positions is among the biggest challenges of doing business in the Capital Region.
